The \u201csurge\u201d in production costs<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>2021\u20132023:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> The pressure began with a sharp increase in feed and energy prices. Greek livestock farmers faced an unsustainable rise in operating costs, which in many cases severely compressed\u2014or even eliminated\u2014their profit margins.
