VOUDOURIS – kONSTAS HAS ACQUIRED PROPERTY FROM TAIPED, AND aims at 120 MILLION EUROS
Attika Meat, Voudouris – Konstas, the large meat processing industry based in Moschato, Athens, is about to expand its productive and commercial footprint in the market, as sources close to the company reveal to FOODReporter.
The company has acquired an adjacent to its current facilities plot of 6,000 sq.m., to expand its production facilities. This is a property acquired by the company from the HRDH portfolio. The total investment will amount to 5 million euros, an amount that corresponds to both the acquisition of the plot and the cost of setting up the facilities and purchasing the mechanical equipment.
The investment has already started and is expected to be completed within the first quarter of 2021. The company will expand its refrigeration facilities and will build a meat processing department for meat products.
This activity shows the company’s entry effort into new product categories.
- 100 MILLION EUROS IN 2020 AND AIMS AT 120 IN 2021
The industry expects that total 2020 sales will show an increase of 5% – 9%, amounting to approximately 97 million euros, while the goal for 2021, after the completion of the above-mentioned investment, is to reach a turnover of 120 million, as the financial director of the company, Stavros Tsalakos, points out to FOODReporter.
Until now, most of the company’s sales, about 70%, come from supermarkets and butchers. Through this investment, the Voudouris-Konstas company aims to increase its client base by increasing its exhibition to HoReCais with new products, from skewers, gyros and burgers up to meat rolls.
At the same time, it will strengthen its presence in the so-called meat trays products, by producing both branded and privately labeled products for the supermarket refrigerators.
Regarding the course of the market, the high-ranking executive of the company notes that the route this year is satisfactory, given the upward trend of “Attika Meat, Voudouris – Konstas”.
In retail, Attika Meat is active in all large supermarkets such as AB Vassilopoulos, Galaxias, ANEDIK Kritikos, Market In, and to a lesser extent in the Greek Supermarkets Sklavenitis. Regarding Pente SA, Voudouris – Konstas maintains cooperation for several years with a shop in shop store, in which it employs its own staff.
